Understanding Saturday's Importance

Saturday Remedies: In Hindu tradition, Saturday holds a unique significance as it is dedicated to Lord Shani, the deity associated with justice. This day is believed to have a substantial impact on individuals' lives, as Shani rewards people based on their actions. Everyone experiences Shani's Sade Sati or Dhaiya (periods of Shani's influence) at some point, which makes Saturdays particularly noteworthy. While Shani is often viewed as a stern planet, pleasing him can lead to the swift resolution of stalled endeavors. Conversely, even minor errors can provoke his displeasure. There are specific beliefs surrounding the purchase of certain items on Saturdays, as explained by astrologer and Vastu consultant Pandit Hitendra Kumar Sharma from Bhopal.

Items to Avoid Purchasing on Saturday

1. Iron: It is deemed inauspicious to buy iron or iron products on Saturday, as they are closely linked to Lord Shani. Bringing iron into the home on this day may lead to increased tension and disputes. If you need to donate iron, purchase it on a different day and donate it on Saturday.

2. Salt: Purchasing salt on Saturday is discouraged, as it is believed to lead to financial issues and increased expenses. If you find yourself low on salt, it is advisable to buy it on Friday instead. Donating salt on Saturday, however, is considered beneficial.

3. Black Sesame Seeds: While black sesame seeds are used in Shani Puja, acquiring them on Saturday is not recommended. It is thought that doing so may create obstacles in your work. It is preferable to purchase them a day earlier for the puja.

4. Mustard Oil or Other Oils: Although offering mustard oil to Lord Shani on Saturday is auspicious, buying oil on this day is seen as inauspicious, potentially leading to health issues. It is best to purchase oil beforehand.

5. Black Shoes and Sandals: Avoid buying black shoes, sandals, or leather goods on Saturday, as this may result in career setbacks and increased fatigue. If necessary, consider shopping on another day.

6. Broom: In certain regions, purchasing a broom on Saturday is viewed as inauspicious, as it may diminish positive energy in the home and lead to financial troubles. Fridays or Tuesdays are considered more favorable for broom purchases.

7. Black Clothes (for wearing): While wearing black clothing on Saturday is acceptable, buying new black garments is not seen as auspicious. If you need to acquire black clothes, it is advisable to do so for donation purposes.

Auspicious Purchases on Saturday

What items are considered auspicious to buy on Saturday? It is favorable to purchase items related to worship, such as grains, rice, flour, and black clothes intended for donation. Additionally, acquiring items associated with Lord Shani or Lord Shiva is also seen as beneficial.
