Mumbai After Rajpal Yadav’s emotional statement came out about not having any friends in the industry, just before he surrendered and was sent to Tihar jail in the ₹9 crore loan and check bounce case, the film industry has now come together to support the actor in clearing his dues. Actor Sonu Sood was the first to appeal to Bollywood to come forward and help Rajpal, and now, in an interview with Screen, the actor’s manager has revealed that many A-list celebrities have extended their support.

Got help from these stars
Rajpal Yadav’s manager Goldie said, ‘Many people have come forward to help Rajpal Yadav. Actors like Sonu Sood, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan have given their support. I was just on a call with David Dhawan – he also helped. Ratan Jain, Varun Dhawan… this time many people are coming forward to help him, which Rajpal has praised a lot.

    When can Rajpal be released?
Although the manager declined to comment on whether the actor had come forward for help before surrendering, he said that the industry stood firmly behind Rajpal when his condition deteriorated. He further said, ‘Everyone has made commitments, but such transactions do not happen overnight. Mentally, the family has to remain strong. Rajpal Bhai himself is very strong and this strength runs in the family. There are many celebrations at home too and family functions towards the end of February. Everyone wants Rajpal Bhai to come out by then. Hopefully, he will be released by tomorrow. The actor’s manager further told that Rajpal Yadav’s bail hearing is to be held tomorrow and expressed hope that the actor will get bail and he will be released.

Everything about Rajpal Yadav’s loan case
In 2010, Rajpal Yadav borrowed ₹5 crore from Murali Projects Private Limited of Delhi to finance his directorial debut film ‘Ata Pata Lapata’ (2012). After the film flopped at the box office, he was unable to repay the money, leading to a long legal battle. In April 2018, a magistrate court convicted Rajpal Yadav and his wife Radha Yadav under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act after seven checks given to them had bounced. He was sentenced to six months simple jail.

    I paid this much amount
In June 2024, the Delhi High Court suspended his sentence and directed him to make genuine efforts to repay the outstanding amount, which had increased to approximately ₹9 crore. By October 2025, the actor had deposited ₹75 lakh. However, the court observed that a large part of the outstanding amount is still outstanding. In February 2025, Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma directed Rajpal Yadav to surrender. His last-minute plea seeking one more week to clear the dues was rejected, following which he was taken into custody.

These people extended a helping hand
Till now Sonu Sood has supported Rajpal Yadav by giving him a role in his upcoming film and a small signing amount. Apart from them, politician Tej Pratap Yadav has offered ₹11 lakh, KRK has offered ₹10 lakh, and music producer Rao Inderjit Singh has offered ₹1.11 crore to help the actor repay his loan and get bail.
