In a significant milestone for regional innovation, JOGO, a health technology startup, has received recognition from the American Urological and Gastroenterology Association, one of the world’s most respected professional bodies in urological and gastroenterology health.
The recognition underscores JOGO’s pioneering work in addressing pelvic floor disorders—an area of women’s health that remains widely underdiagnosed and underserved in India.
Recent studies indicate that nearly one in two women in Tamil Nadu experience pelvic floor disorders such as pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, and urinary incontinence. These conditions are often linked to the absence of structured postpartum pelvic floor rehabilitation. Despite their high prevalence, many women continue to suffer in silence due to lack of awareness, social stigma, and limited access to specialised care—impacting their long-term health, confidence, and workforce participation.
Addressing this critical healthcare gap, JOGO is set to introduce digital pelvic floor rehabilitation programmes for young mothers across Tamil Nadu through Tamil Nadu Government Health Centers.
Designed to be accessible, preventive, and clinically guided, the programme will focus on early postpartum intervention to reduce long-term complications and improve quality of life for women.
The initiative has drawn appreciation from the state health leadership. Dr P. Senthil Kumar, I.A.S Principal Secretary to Government, Health and Family Welfare, congratulated the JOGO team on their international recognition and extended his best wishes for the rollout of the programme, noting its potential to significantly strengthen women-centric preventive healthcare in the state.
With global validation from the American Urological and Gastroenterology Association and a strong focus on regional impact, JOGO’s achievement marks a proud moment for Tamil Nadu’s startup ecosystem—demonstrating how locally rooted innovation can address critical public health challenges while earning international recognition.
