KSI's debut episode as a permanent judge on Britain's Got Talent didn't begin smoothly, as his response to one act made the audience boo.
The ITV show returned on Saturday (February 21) and during the programme, one act captivated the crowd and three of the judges, though not KSI. Dom and his dog Ninja formed a parkour duo, and whilst their opening sequence - a video showcasing flips and jumps across Blackpool's benches and landmarks - caught KSI's attention, he remained unimpressed with what followed.
Judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon approved of the performance, meaning KSI stood alone in rejecting Dom and Ninja. When it emerged that KSI owns cats, the audience erupted in boos, reports the Mirror.
This provoked a reaction from the YouTuber, who told the crowd: "Don't boo my cats!"
Meanwhile, Dec Donnelly, one half of the presenting partnership Ant and Dec, suggested KSI had violated an unwritten rule on the programme. "You don't say no to dogs on Britain's Got Talent, KSI," he remarked to camera. "It's the rules."
KSI is the newest addition to the judging panel, as this series marks his first as a permanent fixture.
He filled in for Bruno Tonioli last year and has now assumed the role permanently following Bruno's exit.
Stacey Solomon also served as a guest judge on the programme last year, stepping in for Simon following a fall in which he injured his head.
Fellow judge Amanda, who took on the role of head judge during Simon's absence, was delighted to have Stacey on board at Britain's Got Talent, commending her warmth and her first-hand experience as an X Factor contestant back in 2009.
"She's so lovely, and I think we've got quite a similar style of judging," Amanda revealed. "She's warm, she's super funny, she has a great understanding of what it's like to be on the other side, because she obviously auditioned for The X Factor all those years ago."
However, it seems Amanda was far from comfortable in the top seat.
"I must admit I hated sitting in that seat," confessed Amanda. "I've been on the show the longest, so I understand why I probably need to sit in that seat, but when I was there, I felt very outcast on the end."
