Legal Tensions Surround Bhagam Bhag 2 Production
Ekta Kapoor and Raaj Shaandilyaa have reunited following their collaboration on the Dream Girl series to work on the sequel of Bhagam Bhag. However, recent reports indicate that Balaji Motion Pictures has issued a notice to the director, claiming a breach of their three-film agreement. Allegations suggest that Shaandilyaa failed to notify them before pursuing projects outside the production company. Consequently, the filming of Bhagam Bhag 2 has been halted, and a legal notice has been dispatched to Raaj, producer Ashwin Varde, and Cape of Good Films to suspend production until the matter is resolved.

In light of the ongoing situation, Raaj has released a statement asserting that he submitted his termination notice to Ekta two weeks ago. He challenged the legitimacy of Balaji Motion Pictures' claims, stating, “If they believed they had a solid legal ground to contest the termination, they could have approached the civil court. No such actions have been taken. Instead, we are witnessing exaggerated and unfounded criminal allegations.” He emphasized that these claims are baseless and seem to be an intimidation tactic, expressing confidence in his legal standing and readiness to address any allegations through the proper legal channels.

As of now, Ekta and her legal team have not publicly responded to the allegations or Raaj's statements. Reports from Variety India suggest that Meenakshi Chaudhary and Ayesha Khan are set to star alongside Akshay Kumar, with Paresh Rawal expected to reprise his role, while Manoj Bajpayee is slated to replace Govinda. The film was initially scheduled to begin shooting in Lucknow for 25 days starting March 2, but the legal issues have led to an indefinite postponement. Akshay, who is producing the film under Cape of Good Films, has yet to comment on the situation. The original Bhagam Bhag, released in 2006 and directed by Priyadarshan, was well-received for its humor and memorable dialogues.
