JEE Advanced Exam Date 2026: IIT Roorkee has announced the registration process and exam schedule for JEE Advanced 2026. This year, the exam will be conducted by IIT Roorkee. According to the information released, the registration process for foreign students will begin on April 6, 2026, while the application process for Indian students will begin on April 23, 2026. Interested candidates will be able to apply online by May 2, 2026, by visiting the official website jeeadv.ac.in.
The exam will be held in two shifts on May 17.
JEE Advanced admit cards will be available for download between May 11 and May 17, 2026. Candidates can obtain their admit cards from the official website during this period. The exam will be held on May 17, 2026, and will be held in two separate sessions on the same day. The first paper will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while the second paper will be held from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
Only those within the 250,000th rank will be eligible.
Regarding eligibility, only candidates who have secured a rank within the top 250,000 in Paper 1 (BE/BTech) of JEE Main 2026 will be eligible to apply. This rule applies to candidates from all categories. Furthermore, a candidate is allowed a maximum of two attempts for the JEE Advanced exam, and both attempts must be made in two consecutive years.
Those already admitted to IITs will not be eligible.
Candidates must be appearing for the first class 12th or equivalent examination in 2025 or 2026. Candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Candidates who have previously secured admission to any Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) will not be eligible to take the JEE Advanced exam.
The JEE Advanced 2026 exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode at designated exam centers across the country. The question paper will be available in both Hindi and English, ensuring greater accessibility for students.
