On Thursday, Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami refuted claims regarding a shortage of commercial LPG cylinders in the state, labeling them as mere rumors. He confirmed that he has instructed senior officials to conduct a thorough review of the current situation in Uttarakhand. Speaking to reporters, Dhami emphasized that strict actions are being taken against misinformation and assured that there is no issue regarding LPG supply anywhere in the state. He mentioned that he had also directed the Chief Secretary to assess the state's situation the previous day. This proactive approach aims to prevent any inconvenience or black marketing for the residents.

Earlier on Tuesday, Ruchi Mohan Rayal, the Commissioner of the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department in Uttarakhand, stated that in light of the current global circumstances and ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, the state government is closely monitoring the gas supply situation across Uttarakhand. Officials indicated that regular reviews are being conducted at the state level in coordination with the food department and oil companies.

Rayal assured that there is currently no shortage of domestic gas in the state, and consumers need not worry about the availability of LPG.

Furthermore, she noted that considering the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, the Government of India has issued the "Natural Gas Supply Regulation Order, 2026" under the Essential Commodities Act. This order ensures that a smooth gas supply system is maintained through special monitoring. The Indian government has clarified that there has been no reduction in the supply of LPG, PNG, or CNG. The supply of commercial gas used in hospitals and educational institutions continues as usual, with no cuts in allocation.

In compliance with the directives from the Indian government, the state government has instructed all district magistrates and oil companies to continuously review the availability of LPG, PNG, and CNG, ensuring equitable supply, especially in priority areas. They have also been directed to prevent any hoarding or black marketing of gas within the state.
