Renowned Pakistani actor and voice artist Shujaat Hashmi has passed away in Lahore. As soon as the news of his death emerged, a wave of deep sorrow spread among showbiz circles and his fans.

According to family members, the funeral prayer of the late actor will be offered tonight at 9 PM at Jamia Naeemia. Shujaat Hashmi was considered one of the senior and talented artists of Pakistan’s television and film industry. His distinctive acting style and powerful voice set him apart from other actors.

In recognition of his remarkable contributions to the arts, the Government of Pakistan honoured him with the Pride of Performance in 1994. During his long artistic career, he performed many memorable roles. His powerful performance in the famous drama Waris played an important role in securing the drama a prominent place among classic television productions.

In addition, he showcased his acting talent in several other dramas including Zard Dopahar, Jhala, Naqab, Raat Ka Pichhla Pehar, Rani Aur Razia, and Karchiyan. Along with television, Shujaat Hashmi also proved his talent in the film industry. He acted in more than twenty films including Khak Aur Khoon, Lajawab, Sohra Te Jwai, Naukar Te Malik, Chacha Te Bhatija, Dostana, and Wohati Da Sawal Ae, among others.

His contributions to the field of arts will always be remembered. Artists, fans and various social circles have expressed deep grief and sorrow over his passing paying tribute to him as a dignified and highly talented figure in Pakistan’s drama and film industry.
