Gundya: Three people died on the spot after a KSRTC Rajahamsa bus collided with a Swift Dzire car near Gundya on the Mangaluru–Bengaluru National Highway on Friday afternoon.
The accident occurred near the Gundya Gadi Temple when the car travelling towards Bengaluru collided with the bus coming from the opposite direction.
According to reports, the Swift car carrying passengers from Dharmadakal in Shishila village was travelling on the highway when the accident took place with the KSRTC Rajahamsa bus that was heading from Dharmasthala to Tirupati.
The deceased have been identified as former APMC member Chandrashekhar Shishila, Janardana Gowda of Kerimar, Ujire, and Sridhar Gowda of Marakada Arali, who was associated with Kakkinje Finance.
Another passenger in the car, Suresh from Ujire, who is the president of a Milk Producers’ Cooperative Society, sustained serious injuries in the accident. He was shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment.
