Ask Maps: Google Maps has introduced a new AI-powered feature called 'Ask Maps.' It is capable of answering users' complex, real-world queries. Additionally, it offers new options designed to make travel planning and navigation much easier.

Ask Maps Feature in Google Maps: Over the past few months, Google Maps has been receiving a steady stream of updates. Now, another impressive update has arrived: Google has added an AI-based conversational feature called 'Ask Maps.' This feature can effortlessly answer users' questions. It has been rolled out to Android and iPhone users in both the United States and India. Currently, it supports only the English language, though support for Hindi is expected to be added soon.

Travel Planning Made Easy

According to Google, this latest feature gathers real-time information from around the globe to present to users. Instead of providing generic, machine-generated responses, it offers personalized answers, thereby simplifying the travel planning process. To achieve this, Google analyzes data from millions of locations and incorporates user reviews. Its personalized recommendations may even include places you have previously saved or searched for. A desktop version of this feature is also set to be rolled out shortly.

How Does the 'Ask Maps' Feature Work?

Google states that the 'Ask Maps' feature can now answer questions that were previously impossible to address. It can be accessed via a dedicated button located just below the search bar. Tapping this button opens a chatbot-like interface where you can input your queries. For instance, if you need to charge your phone, you could ask Maps: "Suggest a place where I can charge my phone without having to wait in line." Based on your current location, Google Maps will then recommend the best nearby spot for this purpose. Similarly, you can use it to discover information about specific travel destinations, nearby attractions, and other points of interest within a city.
