After West Bengal, there has been a stir in the bureaucracy of Assam also. Following the instructions of the Election Commission, 10 IAS and ACS officers have been transferred to the state. District commissioners of Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa and Udalguri have also been changed. Apart from this, there has also been a change in the charge of the post of Additional Secretary. The Personnel Department has issued orders to transfer and appointment on March 16.
All officers will have to report for joining by 3:00 pm on 17th March. IAS officer Kimnai Changsan has been made the new District Commissioner of Baksa. Before this she was working as Secretary in the Home and Political Department. Madhu Sudan Nath has been removed from the post of Secretary of Women and Child Development Department and made the new District Commissioner of Chirang.
These IAS officers also got new assignments
- Dr. Uday Praveen, Agriculture Department Secretary and Agriculture Director, has been transferred and made the new DC of Kokrajhar.
- Jai Vikas, Secretary, Department of Housing and Urban Affairs, has been transferred and made the new DC of Udalguri.
- Srishti Singh, Joint Secretary, Department of Housing and Urban Affairs, has been transferred and made the new DC of Majuli.
These ACS officers were transferred
- ACS officer Ratul Chandra Pathak has been appointed as Chandra, Majuli DC as Additional Secretary, Agriculture Department and Director of Agriculture.
- Dheeraj Saud, DC Baksa, has been transferred and made the new Additional Secretary, Home and Political Department.
- Pulak Patgiri, DC Udalguri, has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary, Women and Child Development Department.
- Pankaj Chakraborty has been given the responsibility of the post of Joint Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management Department.
- Gokul Chandra Brahm has been made the new Joint Secretary of the Home Department, who was earlier working on the post of Chirang DC.

Five IPS officers also got new responsibility
On the orders of the Election Commission, IPS officer Somalin Subradharshini has been made the SSP of Majuli. R Sheetal Kumar has been given the responsibility of the post of South Salmara Senior Superintendent of Police. Aanchal Chauhan has been appointed to the post of Sadiya SSP. Sudhakar Singh has been appointed to the post of Chirang SSP. The responsibility of the post of Dhemaji SSP has been handed over to Mohanlal Meena. All officers will have to report for joining by 11:00 am on 17th March.
