LPG Aadhaar e-KYC Rule : Government has taken an important decision for domestic LPG gas consumers. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has announced that it is mandatory for all consumers to complete Aadhaar-based e-KYC (Biometric Authentication) for uninterrupted access to LPG services and subsidies. According to the government, this verification process has now been made very easy and consumers do not need to go to the LPG distributor. The whole process can be done at home in a matter of minutes through a smartphone.
This rule is applicable to all domestic consumers of LPG connections provided by public sector oil companies (LPG Aadhaar e-KYC Rule). These include companies like Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). LPG customers of these companies are required to link their Aadhaar card with LPG connection and perform biometric authentication. The government has completely digitized the e-KYC process for consumers. Customers can complete this process using the official mobile app of their respective oil company.
Follow the steps below to do e-KYC:
First of all download the official mobile app of your LPG company.
Also download the Aadhaar FaceRD app.
Login to LPG app with your mobile number or LPG ID.
Select the Aadhaar e-KYC or Authentication option.
Complete Face Authentication.
Once the process is completed your e-KYC will be completed successfully.
If customers do not complete e-KYC in time, the following issues may arise in future. Getting LPG subsidy (LPG Aadhaar e-KYC Rule) may be hindered. LPG service or cylinder booking may be affected. Hence the government has urged all the customers to complete the e-KYC process at the earliest. If one is not able to do e-KYC through mobile, he can go to the nearest LPG distributor and undergo biometric verification.
