Emmerdale has revealed a concerning turn of events for Paddy Kirk as he's charged by the police for his involvement in Ray Walters' death.

During Monday's episode of the ITV soap (March 16), Paddy's vulnerable father Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) was once again interrogated about the day he killed Ray (Joe Absolom).

DS Walsh (Amanda Ryan) has been determined to uncover the truth about the concealment of Ray's murder, as she is convinced Bear didn't act alone. However, the former professional wrestler declined to admit that Paddy and Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) disposed of Ray's dead body.

Bear was taken aback, though, when Walsh asked him to tie a specific knot that was used to wrap up Ray's corpse. He tried repeatedly, but couldn't find the correct technique before he began to lose his patience.

In an effort to shield Paddy (Dominic Brunt), Bear abruptly told DS Walsh that he did indeed intend to kill Ray after all, following his modern slavery ordeal, reports the Daily Star.

DS Walsh said: "Mr Howelson, why don't you tell the truth? It's clear that you didn't act alone," with an exasperated Bear shouting: "I did, trust me!"

Back in the village, the absence of evidence confirming that Bear had disposed of Ray's body left Paddy anxious, and on Tuesday (March 17), the local vet decided to confess the truth to the police.

In a bid to prevent Bear from being incarcerated on a murder charge, Paddy was distraught as he urged Dylan not to get involved in the murder investigation, but the teenager refused.

Within the police interview room, DS Walsh listened carefully as Paddy and Dylan gave separate accounts of their role in Ray's death. Paddy even demonstrated the knot he used to secure the body, establishing that he was responsible for disposing of the corpse.

In an unexpected development, Paddy and Dylan were severely reprimanded before DS Walsh formally charged both men with perverting the course of justice.

Paddy's admission left certain Emmerdale viewers 'floored' as they anticipated Paddy would depart the village and face imprisonment.

Taking to X, one viewer remarked: "#Emmerdale the first detective in the village that's thorough. Looks like Bear, Paddy and Dylan are going away on his majesty pleasure."

A second quipped: "Emmerdale, what did Paddy expect, that he'd be home by dinner time?", as a third wrote: "Oh, Paddy, tut tut. #Emmerdale."

"Is Paddy going to confess that he helped move Ray's body. #Emmerdale (shocked face)", questioned another, whilst one person enquired: "Is Paddy leaving?"

Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV and ITVX
