Belthangadi: Mahesh Shetty Timarody has been served a third externment order, directing him to be shifted from Dakshina Kannada district to Manvi in Raichur district. The order was issued on March 16 by Puttur Assistant Commissioner of Police Stella Varghese, following High Court instructions, and is effective from March 16 to September 16.
To implement the order, a police team led by Belthangadi DYSP Rohini C.K. visited Mahesh Shetty’s residence in Ujire on the night of March 16. He was not at home, and as per the procedure under the KP Act for individuals evading police action, a copy of the externment order was affixed to the wall of his house.
Earlier, Mahesh Shetty Timarody was first served an externment order for one year on September 17, 2025. He challenged it in the High Court, after which the Puttur AC Court conducted a hearing and issued a second externment order for nine months on December 16, 2025. A police announcement regarding this order was made in Ujire.
Challenging the second order, he again approached the High Court. Considering his objections, the court directed the issuance of a fresh order within three weeks. Accordingly, the Puttur AC has now issued the third externment order for six months, effective from March 16 to September 16.
Meanwhile, the High Court on Tuesday dismissed the petition filed by Mahesh Shetty Timarody against the externment order.
