President of India Droupadi Murmu visited Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on March 19, 2026, and had Darshan of Ram Lalla.
She performed Aarti at various shrines within the temple complex and carried out the Shri Ram Yantra Sthapana and Pujan.
The President described it as her supreme privilege to touch the sacred soil of Ayodhya, the birthplace of Prabhu Shri Ram. She noted the significance of her visit coinciding with Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, the beginning of Samvatsar 2083 and the first day of Navratri.
Highlighting the temple’s milestones, she recalled the Bhoomi Pujan, Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla, and the opening of the Ram Darbar as golden moments in India’s cultural history. She emphasised that the ideals of Ram Rajya embody prosperity, harmony, and morality, and said that by following these values, India can achieve the vision of an inclusive and developed nation by 2047, if not earlier.
Quoting Goswami Tulsidas, she said Ram Rajya ensures no one remains sorrowful, destitute, or devoid of intellect and moral values. She stressed that Prabhu Shri Ram’s life offers lessons in inclusivity and righteous conduct.
The President underlined that India’s renaissance is unfolding across economic, social, political, and cultural dimensions. She urged citizens to move forward with unity and devotion, embracing kinship and contributing to nation-building under the blessings of Shri Ram.
