Aadhaar Mobile Number Update: The Aadhaar card is one of the most essential documents. It is required everywhere—from colleges to banks. Therefore, keeping it updated is crucial. If your Aadhaar card currently lists an old mobile number, it is imperative to update it as well. Until recently, doing this required a visit to an Aadhaar center; however, that hassle has now been eliminated. You can now update your mobile number directly through the Aadhaar app from the convenience of your home.

New Feature Brings Convenience

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) recently updated the Aadhaar app. With this update, users can now update the mobile number linked to their Aadhaar card right from their homes. This means no more standing in queues or running around with documents. This update is particularly beneficial for those who live far from an Aadhaar center or simply do not have the time to visit one. Now, you can update your mobile number in a snap using your Android device or iPhone, all without leaving your home.

How to Update Your Mobile Number?

First, install the Aadhaar app on your phone. If you already have the Aadhaar app installed, ensure you update it to the latest version. Next, open the app and tap on the 'Mobile Number Update' option. Here, your new mobile number will be verified via an OTP (One-Time Password). Following this, a 'Face Authentication' step will take place, during which the app will scan your face. Once the face verification is complete, you will be required to pay a fee of ₹75 for the demographic update. After the payment is successfully processed, your updated mobile number will be saved in the database.
