India's demand may reach 283 GW
With electricity demand expected to soar, possibly hitting 283 gigawatts, India is stocking up on coal (currently at a 23-day supply) since most of its power comes from coal plants.
Solar energy helps during the day, but nights remain tricky.
On top of that, natural gas shortages and possible El Nino impacts on monsoon rains could make it even harder to keep up with everyone's energy needs this summer.
