Noida (UP) : Leader of Opposition in UP Assembly Mata Prasad Pandey was stopped by the police at Noida border. He was going to meet the workers after the uproar over the salary dispute and was leading the delegation of Samajwadi Party. According to media reports, earlier the police had placed him under house arrest at his residence in Lucknow. Heavy police force was deployed outside his house in Vrindavan Yojana Sector-11, so that he could not go out. However, they managed to escape from there by dodging the police, but were stopped as soon as they reached Noida border.

“The voice of the opposition is being suppressed”: Mata Prasad Pandey

Mata Prasad Pandey launched a scathing attack on the state government over this action. He said, “If Yogi Adityanath is afraid, he puts the police forward. The government is trying to suppress the voice of the opposition.” He also said that he will continue to raise the issues of workers and the general public, even if he is put under house arrest for this. He described this action of the police as a violation of democratic rights.

SP delegation was going to meet the workers

After the protest by workers in the industrial belt of Noida, a 10-member delegation of Samajwadi Party was going to meet the workers. This tour was decided on the instructions of party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Apart from Mata Prasad Pandey, this delegation included Rajkumar Bhati, Sudhir Bhati, Ashray Gupta, Shahid Manzoor, Kamal Akhtar, Atul Pradhan, Pankaj Kumar Malik and Shashank Yadav.

At the same time, the police has made a big claim regarding the demonstration of workers in Noida on 13th April. According to the police, social media handles operated from Pakistan may be behind this uproar. According to media reports, Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh said that misleading and inflammatory posts were made through some fake accounts, in which an attempt was made to spoil the atmosphere by spreading false information about violence and deaths. At present, politics has intensified regarding this entire matter and the administration and the opposition are seen face to face.
