Today’s weather, April 25: Thunderstorm alert in 12 states in 48 hours, heat wave continues to wreak havoc in North India

New Delhi: The weather once again seems to be changing rapidly across the country. While on one hand the extreme heat and heat wave is troubling people in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Delhi, on the other hand the weather is preparing to provide relief in some parts. People’s lives are being affected due to continuous increase in temperature.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a major update and warned of strong thunderstorm, rain and hailstorm in many states of Eastern and North-Eastern India within the next 48 hours. At the same time, the effect of severe heat and heat wave is expected to continue for the next 3-4 days in North-West and Central India.

Alert of storm, rain and strong winds in 12 states

According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds (50-60 km/hr, gusts up to 70 km/hr) may occur in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal between April 26 and 28. During this period there is a possibility of rain with thunder.
There may also be hailstorm in Jharkhand on 26 April.

Extensive rain is expected this week in the northeastern states – Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and other areas. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in many areas.

Effect of heat wave in Delhi-NCR

The temperature in the capital Delhi is likely to be between 41 to 44 degrees Celsius from 25 to 27 April. Amidst the scorching heat, there may be some relief on April 27, because there are chances of rain with thunder on this day.

Heat will increase in Uttar Pradesh

The temperature in Uttar Pradesh may increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the next few days, due to which the effect of heat wave will intensify. There is a possibility of heat wave in Eastern and Western UP between 25th to 27th April.

However, between April 28 and 30, there may be thunderstorms and light rain in some areas, due to which a slight drop in temperature may be seen.

Heat wave alert continues in Lucknow and the temperature can reach 43 degrees. The mercury can go up to 44 degrees in Varanasi, while the scorching heat in Kanpur will also trouble people.

Weather will change in Bihar in 48 hours

The weather may change in Bihar in the next 48 hours. There is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in many parts of the state between April 26 and 27.

This rain may continue intermittently till April 30. During this period the effect of heat and humidity will remain.

There are chances of thunderstorm and rain in Patna on 26-27 April and the temperature may remain between 38 to 42 degrees. Humidity will remain in Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur, but rain may provide some relief.

Heat wave will continue in Rajasthan

The effects of extreme heat and heat wave will continue in Rajasthan between 24th and 26th April. The temperature in both western and eastern parts can go up to 42 to 44 degrees.

However, between April 27 and 29, the weather may change in some areas and there is a possibility of light rain or thunderstorm.
The temperature in Jaipur can reach 41 to 44 degrees Celsius.

Weather will be full of relief in Uttarakhand

The weather will remain relatively pleasant in Uttarakhand. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain at many places between 24 to 26 April and 28 to 30 April.

There may be thunderstorms and strong winds in the hilly areas, while the temperature is expected to be normal or slightly below normal.
