The team had a completely different atmosphere two weeks ago. The Indian women's team required more time to address their difficulties while they had already established team combinations and had upcoming matches. The team lost all their advantages after the 4-1 series defeat against South Africa. The team exists in its current state because it lacks confidence and answers to its problems and faces an upcoming deadline because the T20 World Cup will start on June 12.
The series did not have a close result which could have gone either way. South Africa outperformed India in nearly all their matches. India secured one victory which they obtained through brief periods of success. The Indian team lost all their matches because they failed to perform well in batting and died during the late match period and they used to change their team members frequently.
The opening match from the 2023 World Cup showed India all its problems and those issues remained unsolved throughout the tournament. The top order of the batting team did not perform as an effective unit. One batter looked set while the others fell early. The final T20I match followed the same pattern which had appeared earlier. Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Deepti Sharma went back cheaply. India lost their second wicket while they had scored 21 runs after four overs and they could not recover from that situation.
Harmanpreet Kaur achieved the highest run total for India in the series with 169 runs but her performance included 22 runs from 28 balls. India pursued 156 runs which they should have been able to reach but their batting strategy made the target seem less attainable. The match entering its middle overs experienced a major slowdown which raised the required run rate and caused the team to lose.
India started their chase when they had a 52 percent chance to win the match. After the powerplay the probability dropped to 15 percent which continued to decline until it reached 3 percent at the end of the 16th over. Bharti Fulmali showed some fight with a counter-attacking 40 off 30 balls but India lost their match after starting weak and then failing to build momentum through the middle portion of their match.

Laura Wolvaardt made batting look easy because India struggled to adjust to the Benoni conditions. Her unbeaten 92 in the final game separated the two teams. She controlled the batting throughout the match while she completed the middle phase and ended the game by hitting two sixes during the final over. The South African team maintained their control throughout the game despite their imperfect performance. The team maintained control of the game because whenever they lost their momentum a player would take control of the situation.
India maintains its status as the 50-over world champions. The squad possesses exceptional talent which is recognized by everyone. They defeated Australia because their team contained match-winning players throughout their roster who could defeat any opponent on their best day. T20 cricket does not provide teams with time to regain their competitive form. Harmanpreet Kaur's team has reached their final three T20 international matches before the World Cup.
