On Wednesday, Kavinder Gupta remarked that the rapid evolution of technology, particularly in digital innovation and artificial intelligence, is transforming the dental profession, paving the way for new possibilities in diagnosis, treatment, and patient care.

Speaking at the annual event of Himachal Dental College, the Governor stressed that the youth of India will play a crucial role in the nation’s progress towards becoming self-sufficient and developed. He encouraged students to merge professional skills with innovation and a strong commitment to social responsibility.

Gupta praised the college as a premier institution in the state, noting its significant contributions to education, research, community service, and public health awareness. He stated, “Such institutions are not only producing skilled professionals but also nurturing responsible and empathetic citizens.”

Emphasizing the significance of oral health, the Governor pointed out that it is vital for overall wellness and urged young dentists to provide quality healthcare to underserved and remote communities. He also highlighted the importance of maintaining ethical standards while striving for professional success.

Discussing current trends, Gupta mentioned that the incorporation of artificial intelligence and digital technologies is revolutionizing dental practices, improving precision and accessibility in healthcare. He commended the college for its ongoing outreach initiatives, which include free dental camps, anti-tobacco campaigns, and rural health programs.

He expressed confidence that the college would continue to broaden its impact at the grassroots level, stating, “The true measure of an educational institution is its contribution to society.”

During the event, the Governor recognized students for their exceptional academic and athletic accomplishments. Among the BDS students, Adharika Gupta achieved first place, while Suhani Kashyap secured third in the first year. In the second year, Nishita Gupta topped the college and ranked third at the university level.
