New Delhi: An important case to women’s safety has come to light in Hyderabad, where the court took prompt action and sentenced the accused. According to the information, a 40-year-old man named Abdul Wajid has been convicted in the case of alleged misbehavior with an actress near Charminar. The accused is said to be a resident of Tolichowki area.
According to the police, this incident happened when Bengali actress Pratyusha Paul had come to visit Charminar. It is alleged that during this time the accused behaved indecently with her. Based on the complaint of the victim, a case was registered at Charminar police station.

The police registered a case against the accused under the City Police Act and relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code and he was arrested and presented in the court. The case was heard in the Special Judicial Magistrate Court at Nampally, where on May 5, Magistrate M. Bhaskar held the accused guilty and sentenced him to seven days’ simple imprisonment.
Police officials say that quick justice in such cases sends a clear message to the society that any kind of misbehavior with women in public places will not be tolerated. He said that this action shows the commitment of the police towards ensuring the safety of women.
