Kunigal: Two Bajrang Dal workers riding a motorcycle were killed in a tragic road accident involving a Bolero vehicle near Kothagere village on State Highway 33 in Kunigal taluk on Thursday (May 7).
The deceased have been identified as Akash (28), a resident of Ashraya Colony in Kunigal town, and Manjunath (36), a resident of Chowdeshwari Street.
According to reports, Akash had been working at a private finance company in Kunigal. As he had recently quit his job, he was travelling to the PF office in Tumakuru along with his friend Manjunath on a motorcycle to collect his provident fund documents and settlement amount.
During the journey, a Bolero vehicle coming from the Tumakuru side towards Kunigal allegedly went out of the driver’s control. The vehicle first collided with an oncoming car and then rammed into the motorcycle, resulting in the fatal accident.
Akash died on the spot, while Manjunath, who suffered serious injuries, later succumbed at the Kunigal Government Hospital.
Kunigal Circle Inspector Madyanayak visited the accident site, conducted an inspection, and registered a case for investigation.
