‘We are not the ones who leave you in difficult times,’ Akhilesh is telling Congress for DMK?

Following the results of Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026, Congress has parted ways with its decades-old ally Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). MK Stalin, whom Rahul Gandhi used to call his younger brother during the elections, has now become a stranger to the Congress. Congress has decided to break the pre-poll alliance with Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and go to Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK). Akhilesh Yadav has expressed his protest against this to Congress through gestures.

In West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, two important ruling parties of the India Alliance bid farewell. Mamata Banerjee is now the national president of a party with only 80 seats in West Bengal, MK Stalin’s party also has only 59 seats left. Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam has secured 108 seats. In Tamil Nadu, both the parties DMK and All India Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) are arch rivals, there cannot be an alliance between the two.

‘We are not the ones who give up in difficulties’

Akhilesh Yadav has cornered Congress without taking its name. In Uttar Pradesh, both Congress and Samajwadi Party had jointly contested the assembly elections. The DMK, a decades-old ally of the Congress in Tamil Nadu, has now decided to extend its support to Vijay to form the government. Akhilesh Yadav has cornered Congress on this issue without taking its name. He wrote on X, ‘We are not the ones who leave us in difficulties.’

Why has Congress supported?

Congress has supported Vijay to avoid constitutional crisis. Vijay is still far away from the majority figure. If CPI and CVK cooperate now, Vijay’s party can form the government in Tamil Nadu. Akhilesh Yadav has expressed his displeasure with Congress for leaving DMK’s hand, he has declared himself a strong partner of India Alliance.

What are people saying?

People are trolling Akhilesh Yadav on this post. One user wrote, ‘Supported Tejashwi in Bihar, Tejashwi’s government went down. Supported MK Stalin in Tamil Nadu, he also lost the election. Supported Congress, Congress is not in power anywhere. Had once supported Mayawati, Mayawati has not come to power till date. Some people are saying that if the public had supported us, the seats would have increased.
