Noida News: The police from Noida's Phase 1 station have successfully apprehended three notorious criminals linked to an interstate gang involved in motorcycle thefts and mobile phone snatching. Authorities recovered 17 stolen bikes and scooters, 8 snatched mobile phones, and three illegal knives from the suspects. Among those arrested is the gang's mastermind, Suraj alias Chhidha, who reportedly has over 30 criminal cases registered against him across various police stations for theft, robbery, and gang-related activities. According to the police, the gang operated with remarkable cunning and had been active in the NCR region for an extended period.

Investigations revealed that Suraj, the gang leader, would scout different areas in Noida, Greater Noida, and the NCR during the day. He specifically targeted parked two-wheelers outside factories, markets, malls, and residential areas. By observing which locations were deserted, where CCTV coverage was minimal, and which vehicles remained stationary for long periods, he would return at night with his accomplices to steal the bikes and scooters.

According to police officials, the suspects were not limited to vehicle theft alone. The stolen bikes were also utilized in mobile phone snatching and robbery incidents. Members of the gang would ride high-speed motorcycles to target individuals in isolated streets and markets. They would snatch mobile phones from passersby and escape within seconds. Eight stolen mobile phones were recovered from the arrested criminals.

During police interrogation, it was revealed that the gang sold the stolen bikes and scooters at very low prices, with many vehicles being supplied to other states. The proceeds from these thefts were used for their enjoyment. Authorities believe that this gang may have a larger network, and efforts are ongoing to locate their other associates.

Suraj alias Chhidha, the arrested suspect, has a history of multiple incarcerations. He has around 30 cases registered against him for theft, robbery, snatching, and violations of the gangster act in various police stations in Noida, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, and surrounding areas. Police state that Suraj is a seasoned criminal who had formed a gang of young men around him, which collectively executed numerous vehicle thefts and mobile snatching incidents.

Noida's Additional DCP Manisha Singh stated that the police are currently conducting thorough interrogations of the suspects. There are suspicions that this gang may have connections with other vehicle theft gangs in the NCR. The police are working to identify the recovered vehicles and reach out to their rightful owners. For now, all three suspects have been arrested and sent to jail.
