On May 11, at the picturesque Dharamshala, Punjab Kings get their fourth defeat in a row as Delhi Capitals keep their hopes alive with a 3-wicket victory. Notably, 211 is the record chase on this ground as achieved by the guest team, DC.
The Delhi Capitals got in a few changes in the side, and it worked. Madhav Tiwary was phenomenal with the ball as well as on the field. He got support from his senior pro Mitchell Starc, and his teammate Mukesh Kumar was the most economical for the side.
With the bat, it was a collective effort. DC was dying for the two points, and it was seen in Axar Patel's bat. After the powerplay struggle, Axar Patel and David Miller demolished Punjab's hope.
The nail in the coffin was the finishing touch from Madhav Tiwari and former Punjab Kings player Ashutosh Sharma. Aquib Nabi finished the chase with a six having had an over left in the chase.
Meanwhile, Punjab, yet again, proved itself as a batting-heavy side. Shreyas Iyer, the side's captain, bluntly accepted that the fielding and bowling cost him the defeat.
While Delhi still survives mathematically, Punjab needs to win all three remaining games, which includes one against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, if they want to finish where they did last year.
Shreyas-Priyansh effort doomed by Miller-Axar
