Beloved TV presenter devastated by tragic family death as emotional tribute paid

Survivor presenter Jeff Probst is mourning the his younger brother Scott, who also worked alongside him on the hit reality show for a time. The news of his death was confirmed by their other brother Brent in an emotional post on Instagram on Monday May 11. Alongside a picture of his late sibling, he wrote: "Some sad news, our brother Scott is no longer with us. He was a great brother, son and friend. I will miss him so much. I'm so sad he is gone." He included a heart emoji in his post.

Brent's daughter Amanda, who is currently dating Survivor season 45 runner-up Austin Li Coon, also shared a touching tribute to her uncle on the social media platform. "I can't believe I'm writing this. There are no words to describe the sadness I feel. I love my uncle so much and will miss him every day. Love you forever Uncle Scott."

TV star Jeff, 64, is the oldest of the three siblings who were raised in Kansas before relocating to Washington when Jeff was 15.

No cause of death was shared for Scott, who served as a crew member from 2006 to 2012. He worked as an art assistant, camera assistant, props assistant, grip and video engineer on multiple episodes.

His other production credits include working as a production coordinator on the video game Medal of Honor: Rising Sun in 2003 and a producer on the video games Medal of Honor: European Assault in 2005 and Command and Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight in 2010.

His death comes less than two years after the siblings' mother, Barb Probst, died in November 2024. The reality survival show honored her with a tribute card in a season 47 episode.

The comments pf Brent's post were filled with tributes and condolences for Scott. Survivor season 33 winner Adam Klein offerend his condolences commenting: "I am so terribly sorry Brent. Sending love to you and your whole family." Season 47 contestant Teeny Chirichillo added: "Thinking of you and your family. I'm so sorry."

A fan chimed in: "I am so saddened to hear this news. Scott was such a great person. I met him back in 1986 when I lived in Washington and the memories I have of his friendship will last a lifetime. My love and prayers go out to his family, I will always remember him as one of the greatest I've ever known."

Meanwhile another added: "It's rare I don't even know what to say, but there are no words and yet there are a billion words. He was such a blessing of a soul, his humor was unparalleled. His influence on me went from all the laughter to making me braver sliding down the side of a steep snowy mountain to being like a brother to me, especially in our twenties when we spent almost every day hanging out and giving you reasons to have to vacuum every day...

"I can't believe I won't see his mischievous smile and brilliant eyes again. But I can feel his soul, and know I will see him on the other side of the Veil. Brent, you were such a great older brother to him. I know only a little of how much he appreciated you, but he certainly shared his respect and admiration of you with me on many occasions. Sending you a big hug."
