German singer and social media influencer Lizzie has revealed that some journalists had offered her money to make a public statement and make false allegations against Virat Kohli. However he refused to do so.

In an interview given to Filmimantra media, Lijlaj said that she cannot tarnish anyone’s image just for publicity or money. Viral clips of the interview are spreading rapidly on social media.

“Some journalists even paid me to say bad things about him (Virat Kohli) and make allegations about things he never did. But why would I do that? I would never do that for fame or money,” Lijlaj said.

The influencer also made it clear that she likes Virat Kohli and considers him among her favorite cricketers. He told that when this entire controversy went viral on social media, he was not even aware of it in the beginning. “I found out when people started calling me. I didn’t even see it in my notifications,” Lijlaj said.

Actually, an old post of Lizlaj was seen liked from Virat Kohli’s Instagram account. Photographer Advait Vaidya was also present with Lijlaj in that picture. Since Kohli does not follow that influencer, there was a flood of memes and discussions about it on social media.

Within minutes the screenshots went viral and social media users started making “algorithm” jokes again like the Avneet Kaur controversy in 2025. Even at that time, Kohli had clarified that the interaction had happened by mistake while clearing the Instagram feed.

This time too, memes like “Algorithm recorded another interaction” started trending rapidly on social media. However, this matter was mostly limited to joking and trolling rather than any major controversy.

Later, Lijlaj said that initially he felt good that Virat Kohli reacted to his post, but later he also felt bad because because of this Kohli had to face heavy trolling.

Amidst the controversy, an old video of Lijlaj also went viral, in which she was seen supporting Royal Challenger Bangalore. In the video, he had described Virat Kohli as one of the most exciting players in the world.

Talking about cricket, Virat Kohli’s performance in IPL 2026 was very strong in the beginning. He scored 379 runs in the first 11 matches and reached double figures in nine consecutive matches. On the strength of his batting, RCB reached a strong position in the points table.
