Millions of farmers across India are now eagerly waiting for the release of the 23rd installment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme. As per the government’s ongoing financial support program, eligible beneficiaries are expected to receive ₹2,000 directly into their bank accounts as part of the upcoming installment. Although the Centre has not officially confirmed the payment date yet, reports and previous payment patterns suggest that the next installment may be credited by June or July 2026.

The PM-Kisan scheme has become one of the most important welfare initiatives for the farming community in India. With rising agricultural expenses and increasing dependency on seasonal income, many farmers rely heavily on these periodic financial transfers to manage farming operations, purchase seeds, fertilizers, and handle household needs.

The previous installment under the scheme was released on March 13, 2026, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an event held in Guwahati, Assam. Following that payment, beneficiaries across different states have been checking updates regarding the next transfer cycle.

What Is the PM-Kisan Scheme?

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a central government initiative aimed at providing direct income support to eligible farmer families. Under this scheme, farmers receive financial assistance of ₹6,000 every year. The amount is distributed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each and transferred directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

The objective of the scheme is to reduce the financial burden on farmers and support them in meeting agricultural and daily living expenses. Since its launch, the program has benefited crores of farming families across the country.

Why Farmers Are Waiting for the 23rd Installment

With the kharif sowing season approaching in many parts of India, the upcoming installment is expected to provide timely relief to farmers. Many beneficiaries use the PM-Kisan funds to prepare fields, purchase farming inputs, and cover labor-related expenses.

While the government has not yet issued an official announcement regarding the exact release date, the installment schedule from previous years indicates that the payment could arrive sometime next month or during early July 2026.

Beneficiaries are advised to stay updated through the official PM-Kisan portal and ensure all required formalities are completed to avoid payment delays.

e-KYC and Aadhaar Linking Are Mandatory

The government has once again emphasized that completing e-KYC is compulsory for receiving the next installment. Farmers who fail to complete this verification process may face suspension or delay of their payment.

Beneficiaries can complete OTP-based e-KYC online using their registered mobile numbers. Those unable to complete the process digitally can visit their nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) for biometric verification.

Apart from e-KYC, linking Aadhaar with the bank account is also necessary. In several cases, payments get stuck due to incorrect account details, mismatched Aadhaar information, or incomplete documentation.

Farmers are advised to carefully verify their records and correct any errors well before the next installment is released.

How to Check PM-Kisan Installment Status Online

Farmers can easily track the status of their installment from home by visiting the official PM-Kisan portal. The process is simple and can be completed within minutes.

Users need to open the Beneficiary Status section on the website and enter details such as Aadhaar number, mobile number, or bank account information. After submission, the portal displays the complete payment history and installment details linked to the beneficiary account.

This online facility helps farmers quickly identify whether their payment has been processed or if there are any pending verification issues.

Whose Installment Could Be Stopped?

The government is also conducting verification drives to identify ineligible beneficiaries under the scheme. Payments may be withheld in cases where multiple members of the same family are receiving benefits illegally or where both husband and wife are enrolled separately.

Additionally, authorities are reportedly examining certain land ownership records, especially cases involving land purchased after February 1, 2019. If discrepancies are found during verification, the installment may be paused until the issue is resolved.

To avoid interruptions, beneficiaries should immediately update their records, complete verification requirements, and ensure all submitted details are accurate.

As anticipation grows around the 23rd installment, millions of farmers remain hopeful that the next ₹2,000 transfer will arrive soon and provide much-needed financial support ahead of the upcoming farming season.
