Kelvin and Liz Fletcher struggled to hold their emotions during a poignant scene on Fletcher's Family Farm.

The well-known couple share not only the triumphs of managing their Cheshire farm, but also the devastating lows. Recently, they experienced the devastating blow of losing their home to a blaze, which featured in the ITV programme.

In a repeated instalment of Fletcher's Family Farm, currently available on ITVX, Kelvin and Liz were confronted with unwelcome "bad news".

At the start of episode five from series one, he said, "Sadly, it is not all good news on the farm this week."

"We have finally been hit with the chicken pox," Liz revealed, explaining that all four of their children had contracted the illness. "It has gone down the line, so it is delightful here at the minute," reports the Mirror.

She continued, "So Kelvin is doing the farming stuff, and I am doing the children stuff. A few sleepless nights, but other than that, everyone is happy."

That wasn't the only challenge the pair encountered; their pigs were also expecting piglets and due any day.

"We don't know what we are looking for," he told the camera. "But she looked swollen and restless."

He continued, "Visibly, I could sense something, and lo and behold, this morning, she has given birth to four piggies. I am just gutted we missed it.

"Just to have seen them coming out, at what rate did they come out? Was it 10 minutes, was it all night? I just don't know. There are three more to go, so hopefully, we won't miss those." Kelvin beckoned his wife over to share the touching news, to which she exclaimed in disbelief, "Oh my god, they are tiny."

The former soap actor continued, "She has caught us by surprise, though."

As Kelvin went to check on the mother, Liz confessed, "I feel really emotional, it sounds ridiculous, doesn't it?"

"It's one thing I'll never get over with farming, seeing things being born," she went on. "It is just the most beautiful thing."

Fletcher's Family Farm is available to watch on ITVX.
