Here is important news for students who appeared in the CBSE Class 12 Board examinations. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is commencing the application process for re-evaluation starting today, May 19. Consequently, students who are dissatisfied with the marks obtained in any particular subject can apply online to access their answer scripts and have them rechecked. If, upon reviewing their scripts, they identify any discrepancies regarding the totaling of marks or other errors, they may submit a fresh application to request a re-evaluation of their answer scripts.
**Fee of ₹100 Applicable**
The CBSE Board will charge a re-evaluation fee of ₹100 per subject. This fee can be paid through online modes.
**Fee Refunded if Marks Increase During Re-evaluation**
CBSE has introduced a significant facility for students. If a student's marks increase following the re-evaluation process, CBSE will refund the entire fee amount deposited by the student.
According to a tweet posted by CBSE: "CBSE has introduced a convenient refund provision for students under the new On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for Class 12 Board examinations. Students whose marks increase following re-evaluation will receive a full refund, thereby fostering transparency, fairness, and accountability within the evaluation process. With expedited timelines and a more efficient digital evaluation system, OSM is helping to make evaluation procedures more responsive and student-centric."
**Dates and Fees for Re-evaluation**
Students may apply for re-evaluation between May 19 and May 22, 2026. A fee of ₹100 is applicable for this process. Once the application form is submitted, your answer script will be made available on your personal login dashboard, allowing you to review it. If, after reviewing your answer sheet, you suspect any discrepancy, you may apply to have your paper rechecked by the Board between May 26 and May 29, 2026, at a fee of ₹100 per subject. If any error is found in your marks, it will be rectified. For the rechecking of a specific individual question, a payment of only ₹25 is required.
