Avoid Eating Brinjal In Nautapa: The temperature has crossed 45 at many places across the country. Nautapa, which lasts from May 25 to June 2, is the nine hottest days of the year. Many precautions are advised to be taken during Nautapa, one of them is not to eat brinjal during Nautapa.

There are very important reasons to Ayurveda, science and health behind the advice of not eating brinjal. In Nautapa, the sun’s rays are extremely direct and strong, due to which the body temperature increases and dehydration occurs.

Why you should not eat brinjal (Why Avoid Brinjal In Nautapa)

  • Hot nature and increase in bile

It is said in Ayurveda that the nature of brinjal is very hot. Therefore, eating it in the scorching heat of Nautapa increases the internal heat and pitta dosha of the body rapidly. Due to this, problems like stomach irritation, acidity, nervousness and heartburn can occur.

  • kidney stone problem

Eating brinjal during Nautapa increases the risk of kidney stones. A compound called oxalate is found in abundance in brinjal seeds. There is already a shortage of water in the body due to excessive sweating in Nautapa. In such a situation, the combination of less water and oxalate by eating brinjal causes rapid formation of crystals in the body, due to which the risk of kidney stones doubles.

  • weak digestive power

Brinjal is a spongy vegetable, that is why it absorbs a lot of oil while cooking, due to which it becomes quite heavy. Our digestive power becomes weak in summer. During this period, eating heavy and oily brinjal causes complaints like flatulence, indigestion, vomiting and diarrhoea, heaviness in the body and laziness.

  • skin problem

Eating brinjal can cause skin problems like red rashes, boils, rashes or itching. The solanine found in brinjal and its heating nature unbalances the body temperature.

Heatwave Diet Tips (Nautapa Diet Tips)

It is most important to keep the body hydrated during Nautapa. Therefore, apart from drinking plenty of water, seasonal fruits like watermelon, cucumber, melon, lemonade, and buttermilk or lassi should be consumed as much as possible.
