New Delhi: India’s mid-range smartphone segment has received two strong additions with the launch of the OnePlus Nord CE6 and the Redmi Turbo 5. Priced at ₹31,998 and ₹37,999 respectively, both devices aim at performance-driven users but take different approaches to design, battery, and features.
Display and Design Differences
The OnePlus Nord CE6 features a larger 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,800 nits. The Redmi Turbo 5 comes with a slightly smaller 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. While both offer sharp visuals, the Nord CE6 prioritizes smoother scrolling, whereas the Turbo 5 focuses on compact usability.
Performance and Software Experience
Under the hood, the Nord CE6 is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, while the Redmi Turbo 5 runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra with a peak clock speed of 3.4GHz. Both devices are capable of handling gaming and daily multitasking, but the Turbo 5 gains an advantage with 12GB RAM compared to the Nord CE6’s 8GB, offering stronger multitasking performance.
Battery Life vs Fast Charging
Battery performance is one of the biggest differentiators between the two phones. The Nord CE6 packs a massive 8,000mAh battery paired with 80W fast charging, focusing on extended usage. In contrast, the Redmi Turbo 5 includes a 7,560mAh battery with 100W fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging, making it ideal for users who prefer quick top-ups and reverse charging capabilities.
Camera Capabilities Compared
The Nord CE6 features a 50MP main sensor along with a 2MP secondary lens and a 32MP front camera capable of 4K video recording. The Redmi Turbo 5 offers a 50MP primary sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide lens, along with a 20MP selfie shooter. While OnePlus leads in selfie and video quality, Redmi provides more versatility with its ultrawide rear camera option.
Different Strengths for Different Users
Both smartphones run Android 16-based interfaces and come with IP66/68/69/69K ratings, ensuring strong durability. Ultimately, the Nord CE6 appeals to users prioritizing battery life and display smoothness, while the Redmi Turbo 5 targets those who want faster charging, higher RAM, and more flexible camera options.
