If you have any urgent bank-related work, complete it without delay. Private and public sector banks will remain closed for four consecutive days during the last week of June 2026. According to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) holiday calendar, banking operations will be suspended for several days between June 22 and June 28 due to a combination of national, regional, and weekend holidays. Customers are advised to check the list of bank holidays before visiting a branch.

Why will banks remain closed for four consecutive days?
June 25: Banks in Vijayawada will remain closed on the occasion of Muharram.

June 26: Banks will observe a holiday in several major cities—including New Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Kanpur, Patna, Bhopal, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad—due to Muharram.

June 27: Banks across the country will remain closed as it is the fourth Saturday of the month.

June 28: Banks nationwide will observe their weekly holiday, as it is a Sunday.

Other holidays at the end of June
Apart from these four days, there are some regional holidays during the last two days of the month. Banks in Shimla will remain closed on June 29 to mark Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti. Additionally, banking operations in Aizawl will be suspended on June 30 due to a regional holiday known as 'Remna Ni'.

Online services will remain operational
Despite the closure of bank branches, the good news for customers is that essential banking services will continue without interruption. You can carry out financial transactions—such as transfers—at any time, even on holidays, using UPI, mobile banking apps, and net banking. Furthermore, ATM services for cash withdrawals will continue to function normally. However, services may experience brief interruptions during scheduled server maintenance, for which banks usually provide advance notice.
