The Uttar Pradesh government has started a special campaign under the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi (PM Swanidhi) scheme to financially strengthen street vendors and small businessmen. The aim of this campaign, which will run from June 1 to June 30, 2026 across the state, is to extend the benefits of the scheme to those eligible businessmen who have been deprived of it till now.

The government believes that by providing easy loan facilities to small businessmen, their business can be given a new impetus. This is the reason why this campaign is being conducted in mission mode in the entire state.

Eligible beneficiaries will have special recognition

During the special campaign, such street vendors will be identified who have not yet applied for the PM Swanidhi Scheme or have not been able to avail the benefits of the scheme due to some reason. The beneficiaries will be reached through a process of extensive survey and verification at the administrative level.

For this, coordination has been established between various departments so that more and more people can be connected to the scheme.

responsibility assigned to officers

District and block level officials have been given important responsibilities to make the campaign successful. Chief Development Officers (CDOs) have been entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring the entire campaign, while Block Development Officers (BDOs) have been instructed to meet the targets in their respective areas.

Also, officials have been asked to submit progress reports regularly, so that the effectiveness of the campaign can be continuously assessed.

Census town report will become the basis

‘Census Town Report’ and departmental data will be used to identify beneficiaries. On the basis of this information, a list of eligible street vendors will be prepared and direct contact will be established with them.

After this, the application process, document verification and loan approval process will be completed expeditiously. The objective of the government is to ensure that no eligible person is deprived of the benefits of the scheme.

Business will expand with easy loans

Under PM Swanidhi Yojana, small traders are provided easy loans without any complicated process. This enables them to expand their business, purchase new materials and increase income.

Apart from this, beneficiaries who repay the loan on time also get the opportunity to get a higher loan amount in future. This scheme is also playing an important role in promoting digital payments and strengthening financial inclusion.

Campaign going on in many districts of the state

This special campaign is being actively run in many districts of the state including Agra, Meerut, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Kanpur city. The local administration is also organizing special camps and awareness programs to reach out to the beneficiaries and connect them with the scheme.

Steps towards economic empowerment

The state government hopes that thousands of new street vendors will join the PM Swanidhi scheme during this one-month campaign. This will not only increase their employment and income, but will also strengthen the local economy. By providing financial assistance to small traders, the government is taking an important initiative towards making them self-reliant.
