The biggest corporate news of this time is coming from India’s infrastructure sector. ‘Adani Airport City Limited’, a subsidiary of ‘Adani Airport Holdings Limited’, the country’s largest private airport operator, has officially announced ‘Integrated Airport City Development’, the most ambitious project in the history of India’s aviation.

Adani Group is going to make a huge investment of more than ₹20,000 crore in the first phase of this mega project. Under this, more than 655 acres of land around six major airports spread across five states of India will be transformed into gleaming global business hubs.

The face of which 6 cities will change?
Adani Group is going to do mixed-use development of about 22 million square feet in this first phase. The cities included are:

Mumbai (Maharashtra)

Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra)

Ahmedabad (Gujarat)

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh)

Jaipur (Rajasthan)

Guwahati (Assam)

Biggest bet on Mumbai: Out of the total land bank of 655 acres, Mumbai and Navi Mumbai alone include about 440 acres of land. The company is going to invest about 70 percent of its total investment in this Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).

What is ‘Airport City’ model?
It’s not like traditional real estate. It has been designed inspired by the world’s most successful airport districts such as Singapore’s Changi, Dubai International, Amsterdam’s Schiphol and Seoul’s Incheon.

In simple words, these will be ‘walkable’ urban areas, which will be directly connected to the airport, metro and city transport. Here travelers, businessmen and locals will find world-class amenities all within one complex:

Luxury and Premium Hotels: Luxurious accommodation.

Retail and Dining Districts: Shopping malls and big food brands.

Commercial Workplace: Modern corporate offices for companies.

Entertainment and Convention Centre: Space for large weddings, meetings and exhibitions.

Deals with big global brands and sustainability
To get this big project off the ground, Adani Group has signed an agreement with the famous IHG Hotels and Resorts. Under this, five luxury hotels will be opened, in which the internationally famous ‘Kimpton’ brand is going to enter India for the first time. Apart from this, giants like Tata Projects, L&T, and PSP Projects have been roped in for construction and design.

The special thing is that full care has been taken of the environment in this entire project. All projects have received LEED Gold pre-certification from the US Green Building Council (USGBC), which guarantees sustainable design and resource efficiency.
