Development Initiatives Reviewed in Himachal Pradesh Meeting

Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, June 27: Today, Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj, a Lok Sabha MP, led the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting at Bachat Bhawan, where he assessed the advancement of centrally funded development initiatives and provided essential directives to officials.


Present at the meeting were MLAs D.S. Thakur and Dr. Janak Raj. Dr. Bhardwaj commended the district administration and departmental staff for their efforts, encouraging them to adopt a mission-oriented strategy to ensure the prompt completion of welfare and development projects.


While reviewing the Public Works Department's initiatives, Dr. Bhardwaj instructed the creation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for 56 road projects and stressed the need for collaborative efforts to hasten development activities. He expressed concern over the sluggish progress of the RDSS scheme, which aims to enhance the district's power supply infrastructure, reminding officials of the ₹90 crore allocated for the initiative and urging RVNL authorities to accelerate outstanding tasks.


Additionally, he called on NHAI and PWD officials to take swift action to enhance the condition of the Chakki–Chamba–Bharmaur National Highway. In the agricultural sector, Dr. Bhardwaj urged officers to advocate for natural farming by consistently encouraging farmers and offering essential technical assistance.


The meeting also evaluated the progress of significant schemes such as the Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, National Health Mission, TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, MPLADS, Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana.


Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal welcomed the MP and later expressed gratitude, assuring the effective and timely execution of the decisions made.


Attendees included non-official members Krishna Mahajan and Manoj Kumar, along with senior officials such as SP Vijay Kumar Saklani, ADC Amit Mehra, Assistant Commissioner Manmohan Singh, SDM Vikas Sharma, SE Jeet Singh Thakur, CMO Dr. J.S. Bhardwaj, DFO Kritagya Kumar, and other departmental heads.
