The BPSC Combined Competitive Examination is among the most prestigious government recruitment exams in Bihar. Every year, lakhs of young aspirants appear for this exam seeking employment in administrative and other state services. A large number of applications are expected this time as well, and preparations for the exam have been intensified.
According to the notice issued by the Commission, the exam will be conducted in a single shift. Candidates will take the exam at designated centers across various districts of the state at the scheduled time. Aspirants are advised to arrive at the center well before the exam begins to ensure a smooth document verification and entry process.
The announcement of this exam date comes shortly after the BPSC released the final results of its 70th Combined Competitive Examination. In that exam, the Commission selected a record 2,027 candidates—the highest number of selections in state service exams since independence. This achievement has further boosted the enthusiasm of young aspirants regarding BPSC examinations. Shraddha Pandey from Uttar Pradesh secured the top spot in the results of the 70th examination. Four female candidates made it to the top 10, while 45 women were selected within the top 100. According to the Commission, this result ranks among the best-performing outcomes in the history of state service examinations.
Status of the Previous Recruitment
A total of 2,027 appointments were made during the previous recruitment drive. The majority of these posts were for various departments of the Bihar government. Additionally, roles such as Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) and Financial Administrative Officer were included. Approximately 4.83 lakh candidates applied for the 70th examination, with lakhs of aspirants appearing for the preliminary test.
What Should Candidates Do?
There is now palpable enthusiasm among candidates regarding the 72nd preliminary examination. Instead of starting new topics, aspirants should focus more on revision, mock tests, and previous years’ question papers. This will improve both time management and self-confidence during the exam.
What Steps to Take?
Once the Commission releases the admit cards, candidates should carefully review the details mentioned—such as their name, photograph, exam center, reporting time, and other instructions. It is crucial to contact the Commission immediately if any errors are found.
