Research on crop protection using AI

Work will focus on developing new technologies to combat the Tomato Leaf Curl Palampur Virus and Cucumber Mosaic Virus, which affect crops such as tomatoes and cucumbers. Researchers will utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) to design antiviral peptides capable of effectively inhibiting these viruses. If successful, this research could significantly help farmers reduce losses caused by viral diseases in the future.

What are the qualifications for the JRF position?

Candidates applying for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position must hold a postgraduate degree in Bioinformatics or Computer Science. Additionally, a valid score in CSIR-UGC NET or GATE is mandatory, alongside a graduate or postgraduate degree in a professional course. The selected candidate will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹37,000 along with House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per rules.

Eligibility for Project Associate-I

Candidates applying for the Project Associate-I position must hold a four-year bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences, Agriculture, Computer Science, Mathematical Sciences, or Physical Sciences. Additionally, candidates possessing a master’s degree in Natural Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, BVSc, Pharmacy, Engineering, or Medicine are also eligible to apply. The maximum age limit for this position is 28 years.

Preference for Certain Candidates

The college has clarified that candidates with experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Python or R programming on the Linux platform will be given preference during the selection process. For candidates possessing such skills, this opportunity could prove to be a career-defining step.

Salary Based on Qualifications

Selected candidates will receive a monthly remuneration of either ₹37,000 + HRA or ₹30,000 + HRA, depending on their eligibility and the specific position.
