New Delhi, 16 July 2026: India’s Aman Sehrawate won the gold medal in the men’s freestyle 57 kg weight category on the inaugural day of the ‘Polyak Imre, Varga Janos and Kozma Istvan Memorial 2026’ wrestling competition held in Budapest, Hungary.
Deepak (men’s 61 kg category) and Vishal Kaliramana (men’s 65 kg category) won bronze medals, taking India’s medal tally to three on the first day of the competition.
India’s campaign, which will continue today, includes men’s freestyle 79 kg, 92 kg, 97 kg and 125 kg weight categories and women’s wrestling 50 kg and 55 kg weight categories.
This is the fourth tournament of the season and the final competition of the ‘United World Wrestling’ Ranking Series.
