Lingaraja Temple – The oldest Shiva temple in the city
Bhubaneswar is identified with Lingaraj Temple. Built in the 11th century, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is also the largest Hindu temple in the city. Located in the old city, this temple is just 4.5 km from the airport and 5 km from the railway station.
Timings: 6:30 am to 7:30 pm
Bindu Sarovar – belief to Shiva-Parvati
Bindu Sarovar is at a short distance from Lingaraj Temple. It is believed that it was built by Lord Shiva to quench the thirst of Mother Parvati. This place is considered very sacred and devotees take a dip here.
Timings: 6 am to 8 pm
Dhauligiri Shanti Stupa – Confluence of History and Peace
Dhauligiri Stupa is built on the same hill where Ashoka adopted Buddhism after the Kalinga war. It is also called Peace Pagoda. The white stupa and greenery all around give peace to the mind. There is a light and sound show in the evening which should not be missed.

Rajarani Temple – Wonder of yellow-red stones
This 11th century temple is also dedicated to Lord Shiva. its name "queen" It is named so because of the special yellow and red colored stones found here. The Kalinga style carvings and sculptures are worth seeing.

Mukteshwar Temple – a unique example of architecture
Small but very beautiful temple. The archway made of red sandstone is a sight to behold. The square building and pyramid-like roof of the temple make it special. Best angles for photography will be available here.

Nice place to visit apart from temples!
If you have time left, apart from temples, you can also visit Nandankanan Zoo, Nikko Park, Orissa State Museum or Parashurameshwar Temple. In one day, Bhubaneswar will give you a taste of history, faith and art. Being just 60 km away from Puri, definitely add it to your trip.
