Virat Kohli, who is one of the greatest batters in the history of cricket, entered the record books on July 16 by surpassing Kumar Sangakkara’s world record of most runs in ODIs at the home of the rival team,

The 37-year-old needed 46 runs in the second ODI against England to go past Sangakkara’s tally of 5,518 runs. He reached the milestone when he amassed his 46th run on the fourth delivery of the 24th over of the first innings.

Former Sri Lanka skipper Sangakkara had amassed  5,518 runs in 149 ODIs in rival countries. On the other hand, Kohli is playing his 126th ODI at the home of the opposite team.
