Caitlin Clark scripts history with new career high record against Seattle Storm
The Times Of India | July 18, 2026 12:39 PM CST

Caitlin Clark set a new career high with 45 points as the Indiana Fever held off the Seattle Storm 110-107 on Friday night, becoming the first player in WNBA history to record a 40-point, 10-assist game in the same outing. The performance came just days after Clark had been mired in a shooting slump, and it arrived alongside another milestone, as she also became the fastest player in league history to reach 200 career three-pointers.

Clark's night mattered beyond the box score. It gave the Fever a signature win and gave Clark herself a clear signal that the slump was behind her heading into a tough back-to-back against the New York Liberty.

Caitlin Clark scored career high against Seattle Storm

Clark finished 11 of 18 from the field and knocked down 6 of 10 attempts from beyond the arc, a sharp turnaround after going just 3 of 19 from three over her previous three games. She also got to the free throw line 19 times, converting 17, an aggressive approach that came one game after she voiced frustration with officiating during a loss to the Golden State Valkyries.

The 45 points stand as the most in a single game in Fever franchise history, and Clark's 10 assists made her the first player in WNBA history to post a 40-point, 10-assist stat line. Her long step back three with 39.1 seconds remaining broke a tie and gave Indiana the lead for good, coming right after she blocked a shot from Seattle rookie Flau'jae Johnson to set up the possession.

Caitlin Clark makes WNBA history as fastest to 200 career 3-pointers
Caitlin Clark reached the 200 career three-pointer mark in the second quarter, hitting a 26-footer off an assist from Tyasha Harris with 7:29 left in the half. She got there in just 74 games, breaking the previous record of 81 games set by Katie Smith with Minnesota between 1999 and 2001. Smith sits third on the WNBA's all-time three-point list with 906, behind Diana Taurasi's 1,447 and Sue Bird's 1,001.

Clark's scoring output also tied her with A'Ja Wilson for the second-most points in a single game this WNBA season, trailing only Marina Mabrey's 53-point outing last month.

Kelsey Mitchell provided support with 30 points of her own, giving Indiana's All-Star backcourt a rare game where both players clicked at the same time after frequently carrying the offense individually this season. Defense remains a concern for the Fever, who played without Aliyah Boston as she managed a right lower leg injury, and Seattle's young frontcourt duo of Dominique Malonga and Awa Fam took advantage, combining for 44 points and 23 rebounds. Boston is expected back and coach Stephanie White said Clark is also set to play Saturday when the Fever face the Liberty at 7 p.m. CST on CBS.
