Moradabad. As soon as the news of the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan came, the faces of Congress workers lit up. The City Congress Committee in Thakurdwara, Uttar Pradesh called it a big victory for the rights of the youth and students of the country. On the instructions of State Congress President Ajay Rai, the workers entered the market amidst drums and fireworks to appease the people and termed it as a historic milestone of the student movement.

In fact, Thakurdwara Nagar Congress Committee was preparing to take out a candle march from the office to the tehsil gate earlier in the evening. But as soon as the news of the resignation of the Education Minister came, the program of the candle march was immediately changed on the instructions of the state leadership. After this, it was transformed into a procession and distribution of sweets, celebrating it as ‘Vijay Utsav’.

Celebration on the beat of drum in Bazaar Ganj

On Saturday evening, workers gathered at the party office in Bazaar Ganj under the leadership of Shamim Ahmed Chaudhary, President of the City Congress Committee and probable Congress candidate from 26 Assembly Constituency. From there the convoy of leaders moved towards the nearby busy markets.

According to locals, the Congressmen shared their happiness by distributing sweets to passers-by, local shopkeepers and the general public. Crowds of youth were seen everywhere, where slogans were raised in support of Rahul Gandhi and student unity.

‘This is the victory of youth’s struggle and truth’

While distributing sweets, Congress leaders, while talking to the media and local people, described this entire incident as a victory for the country’s democratic system. Shamim Ahmed Chaudhary said that students were on the streets for a long time for their rights and irregularities to NEET-NTA. Ultimately the government had to come on the back foot.

It is being told that during this period, Rahul Gandhi’s efforts were especially appreciated. Speakers said that the way opposition leader Rahul Gandhi gave strength to the voice of the students, from Parliament to the streets, is the result that today the government has to bow down.

Gathering of big leaders and workers in the program

In this victory festival, the huge support base of Congress at the local level and the enthusiasm of the workers was clearly visible. Many senior officials like District Vice President Salma Aga, Rajkumar Panda, Sharif Azad, District Secretary Mohammad Deen Siddiqui, Haji Mustaqeem Ansari, District General Secretary of Youth Congress Abdullah Ansari, Sharif Siddiqui and Idris Kasar were present in the program.

Apart from this, dozens of workers including Mohsin Akhtar Advocate, former Seva Dal Municipal President Moeen Qureshi, Zakir Hussain Ansari, Master Raees Ahmed, Master Shahid Hussain, Wajid Ansari, Dabir Hussain Ansari, Yameen Siddiqui, Naeemuddin Ansari, Farman Siddiqui, Mohammad Mustaqeem and Dr. Haji Babu Hussain Ansari participated and congratulated each other.
