Knews Desk- A new political development has come to light in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. Sadar Zafar Ali of Sambhal’s Shahi Jama Masjid formally today AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) Are going to hold hands. He will be given membership in the presence of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi during the party program organized in Moradabad.
Zafar Ali’s name was included among the main accused in the Sambhal violence case. The police arrested him and sent him to judicial custody, where he spent about four months in jail. Later he was released after getting bail from Allahabad High Court.
After coming out of jail on 1 August 2025, Zafar Ali was given a warm welcome by his supporters. He reached Sambhal in a procession in an open vehicle, which was much talked about at that time.
Eye on 2027 assembly elections
Zafar Ali himself has also confirmed taking membership of AIMIM. He has indicated that after joining the party, he will make a big announcement regarding his political future. It is being told that he is preparing to contest in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
Political sources believe that AIMIM can make Zafar Ali a candidate from Sambhal assembly seat. If this happens, then the electoral contest in nearby Muslim dominated seats including Sambhal may become more interesting and it is likely to have an impact on local political equations.
