Aamir Khan gets emotional remembering the villain of ‘Ghajini’, says, ‘He made the film memorable’

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan remembered his co-star Pradeep Rawat, who died of blood cancer on August 4 at the age of 74. Superstar Aamir Khan described his “Lagaan” and “Ghajini” co-star as a fearless performer whose work had a profound impact on Indian cinema.

What did Aamir Khan say?

Speaking to Variety India, Aamir Khan praised his late co-star Pradeep Rawat’s role as the dangerous villain in the film “Ghajini,” calling it one of his most memorable villain performances on screen. He said, “As an actor, he was very dedicated and fearless. Pradeep ji played the title role in “Ghajini.” I think he was one of the most formidable screen villains in our cinema. The film wouldn’t have worked without him.”

The film Lagaan was also remembered

Aamir Khan also spoke about Pradeep Rawat’s performance as Deva Singh Sodhi in Ashutosh Gowariker’s film “Lagaan.” He said, “He brought his own flavor to Deva Singh Sodhi. I don’t think anyone could have played Sodhi with so much swag. He was a versatile actor. I’m saddened to hear of his passing.”

Pradeep Rawat’s film career

In addition to Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil films, Pradeep Rawat has also appeared in Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Bhojpuri, and Nepali cinema. His films include “Sarfarosh,” “The Hero: Love Story of a Spy,” “Rowdy Rathore,” “Veeram,” “Market Raja MBBS,” “Singh Is Bliing,” “Gulu Gulu,” and “Chava.” Pradeep Rawat’s last Hindi film appearance was in 2025’s “Chava,” in which he played Yesaji Kank.
