The Minnesota Timberwolves have announced that they will be honoring one of the greatest players in franchise history later this season.
According to a team announcement on Friday, Minnesota will honor Kevin Garnett with a jersey retirement on Feb. 28, 2027. Fittingly enough, the jersey retirement will come on a night in which Minnesota hosts the Boston Celtics, the same team Garnett spent six seasons of his career with.
Kevin Garnett had an outstanding career with the Timberwolves
Minnesota selected Garnett with the No. 5 overall pick in the 1995 NBA Draft and he spent the first 12 seasons of his NBA career with the organization.
Garnett’s time in Minnesota included 10 All-Star Game selections, an MVP award, six first-team All Defense selections and numerous top 10 finishes in other award categories.
Along with all the individual accolades, Garnett is the all-time franchise leader in nearly every single offensive and defensive stat.
