Whether at Le Mans, Daytona or a dozen other circuits around the world, the Cadillac name is closely associated with a thunderous soundtrack. The V-Series.R, the current LMDh-spec race car campaigned by Cadillac factory programmes in IMSA GTP and the FIA World Endurance Championship, has become a crowd favourite partly because of the outrageous noise it makes when its naturally aspirated V-8 comes in after rolling off all-electric power. Now, as of Friday, Cadillac is showing how that iconic powertrain could appear in a very different setting.

This is the V-One, Cadillac’s latest reveal for Monterey Car Week. It is being described as a concept, though Cadillac Executive Design Director Dominic Nafaji also calls it “a clear sign of our ambition for the Cadillac V-Series brand in the future.” Whether that means Cadillac truly intends to offer customers a more polished version of its V-One remains unclear, but it does seem to suggest that the brand sees a future for naturally aspirated track-focused cars in some form.

Apart from a distinctive two-tone finish in silver and dark blue, the V-One’s exterior should look very familiar to anyone who has watched the V-Series.R on track. The V-One even features a low-mounted rear wing, a signature detail of the V-Series.R only since its aerodynamic package was revised for the start of the 2026 IMSA season. Everything else, from the huge fin at the rear of the engine cover to the flying buttress-style winglets attached only to the inner side of all four fenders, has been carried over from the race car.

The cabin is where things become more distinctive, with Cadillac taking a similar approach to Porsche’s one-off 963 RSP by softening the sharp, functional feel of what would otherwise be a stripped-out race car interior. Softer materials, including recycled fabrics, cover some of the exposed carbon-fibre surfaces one would normally expect in a competition machine. At the centre is a steering wheel designed specifically for the V-One, operating what Cadillac describes as “an intuitive, race-inspired interface and data visualisation concept.” Put simply, the car’s user interface has also been revised to better suit possible private owners.

Power comes from the familiar 5.5-litre V-8 working as part of a hybrid powertrain, delivering a combined 830 horsepower in this version. The suspension components are shared with the race car as well.

To be clear, the V-One is not exactly a road-going V-Series.R, even as a concept. Instead, it is better understood as Cadillac’s slightly more luxurious answer to the Ferrari 499P Modificata or the Aston Martin Valkyrie LM — a customer-oriented version of a Le Mans racer. Even so, that idea remains theoretical for now. At present, this is simply a concept making its debut at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering during Monterey Car Week. We will have to wait and see whether Cadillac has anything further planned for this particular evolution of its race-winning prototype.
