Export duty reduced—so why haven't prices changed?

Despite a rise in crude oil prices in the international market, there has been no change in petrol and diesel prices. The central government reduced export duties on petrol, diesel, and ATF starting August 15. The export duty on petrol has been set to zero, while the duty on diesel is now ₹24 per liter and on ATF, it is ₹19.5 per liter. Despite this, there has been no change in petrol and diesel prices. However, minor price variations across cities may occur due to state-level VAT and local taxes.
