In a heartbreaking incident at Khavdya Hills in Sambhajinagar, an 18-year-old boy’s demand for a new iPhone ended in the loss of three lives.
Kunal Chandgude, distressed after his father refused to buy the phone due to financial constraints, attempted suicide by jumping off a cliff. His father, Murlidhar, a driver and the family’s sole breadwinner, tried desperately to save him but fell alongside his son. Moments later, Kunal’s mother, Sangita, overcome with shock, leapt after them.
The rescue effort, involving villagers, police, and fire brigade officials, lasted nearly three hours but ended in tragedy around 1 pm. All three bodies were later recovered by authorities.
The incident has left the community shaken, highlighting the devastating impact of financial stress and emotional turmoil within families. Police have begun further investigation, while locals mourn the loss of the family.
